MEET SKYE RYAN-EVANS:
New Zealand-born Canadian artist\poet Skye Ryan-Evans has always had a passion for Nature. From her earliest years growing up in New Zealand, she spent many hours walking through the lush green New Zealand bush and rainforests. Surrounded by such spectacular scenery as Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu, the mountains of the Southern Alps, and the cascading water-falls of Fiordland, she developed a passion for the environment, for poetry, music and of course, for art.
Her exquisitely detailed pen & ink drawings depict such natural images of frogs, flowers and rainforest scenes. Moving to Australia at the age of 23, extended her experience of Nature and taught her about the rustic colours and textures of the wide brown land which became her home for a time.
From this rugged exposure, Skye perfected her unique 3-Dimensional paint formula to enable her to capture the textural diversity found in the Australian Outback and magical Rainforests which abound in the sub-tropical region of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Her pointillistic drawing technique migrated easily onto her unique neo-primitive\modern painting style which pays tribute to the indigenous cultures of Australasia. Dolphins, Whales and Frogs feature in her full-colour, dimensional works, rendered in both neo-primitive and modernistic\traditional styles.
Her Online Art Gallery and Gift Studio features many of these one-of-a-kind works of art and exclusive gift range. Her work is unique because she uses her own spectacular paint medium which is 3-Dimensional and capable of a huge range of special-effects. The latest phase in Skye's artistic journey has now begun, with her move to British Columbia in Canada. Surrounded by the breath-taking natural setting of Vancouver Island, Skye continues to create her uniquely signatured hand-painted rustic crafts, pen & ink drawings and distinctive style of digital photography and digital artistry, joined by her business-partner, Val Brackenridge. In this pristine natural environment, the artwork will convey her interpretation of the unique beauty of the area as well as the the rich cultural influences of Canada's gifted First Nations peoples and their art. Her collection will also still include her distinctiviely Australian-styled works
